"I'll settle for you for one thousand."
See, I really like this scene. And mainly it’s because of the little things like this. The dialogue is so carefully pieced that it sounds like something a typical street hooker in the movies would say. And yet, there’s something underneath it; something like a mix of “last resort” and some unspoken romantic feelings that you KNOW Panty will try to never utter, at least not right in front of Brief.
And speaking of Brief, there he is, realizing the girl he’s been chasing after for over nine episodes is willing to have sex with him, but he’s a smart kid, so he knows where this is going. He knows that it’s more for her self-gratification, and he knows she sleeps around all the time, and thinks that to her, he’s just another fuck. So he gives her that look, while inside he’s torn about wanting it or telling her that she needs to get a grip, but he can’t help himself, because he cares about her too much. Brief’s narrowed eyes just hit me in that way, and this sorta sounded better in my head, but god, I love this scene.
